Once you notice the positive things- learn how to foster appreciation, give recognition, and use empathy to do so.

All three of these capacities are also incredibly valuable in our non-romantic relationships.- showing appreciation, recognition, and empathy for a family member or friend can never be underestimated in value and importance.

  1. Tell your partner one thing you appreciate about them or that they have done for you.
  2. Acknowledge and recognize something they have accomplished OR something they are struggling with, while offering emotional support- e.g. “I’m here for you.”

Remember, it feels good to make the people we love feel good.

BONUS- do the same for a family member or friend
